Sales Account Manager

We are looking for an enthusiastic and confident person to join the sales and account team focused on the system.

The role is ideally suited to an individual who is passionate about providing excellent service to customers. You will be responsible for selling and promoting subscriptions, encouraging adoption and identifying opportunities for further engagement. A focus will be on building relationships with Multi Academy Trusts across England.

The role will be either hybrid based in our Cowbridge head office or remote for the right candidate. Some UK travel to clients and events will be required.

The role

Reporting to the Head of Partnerships, you will be responsible for new subscription sales to identified Academy Trusts / schools and the account management of our key accounts, including the successful subscription renewal. The main responsibilities for this post are:

Account Based Marketing and sales for Multi Academy Trusts
o Profiling potential customers
o Lead generation of key influencers within an academy trust or school
o Phone calls, video calls, messaging and emails to contacts
o Present sales presentations and demos via video call or face to face
o Generating proposals and managing the sale process
o Processing sales and subscriptions

Key Account management for Multi Academy Trusts
o Maintain relationships with key customers of Academy Trusts
o Analysing account engagement and personalising account management
o Troubleshooting engagement issues and arranging solutions, liaising with other teams
o Identify next steps, renewals and ‘up-sells’
o Managing the Academy trust renewal

Assist with the strategic development of Academy Trust accounts
o Identify sales leads, profiling and segmentation of the market
o Developing effective communication channels with clients
o Review and create sales / account processes
o Collate needs of customers and facilitate the meeting of those needs

Direct sales with schools
o Undertake telesales and online conversations
o Manage the sales process for a school

Skills, knowledge & experience


  • Proven sales experience
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Good written English
  • Confident in the use of online systems
  • Ability to present information to others using a variety of media (telephone, online, face to face)​
  • Team player and self-starter​
  • Experience of negotiation and/or working with senior decision makers​
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Proven ability to understand an online product/service


  • Knowledge of English education system
  • Experience of using Salesforce CRM
  • Experience of account management/customer care
  • An understanding of marketing and sales principles


  • Experience of working/volunteering within the school sector
  • Experience of using data analysis tools

Hours of work

Flexible – options for full time (34 hours per week, Monday to Friday) and part time working are available, Permanent full time, part time or term time.


On-target earnings of £40,000 p.a. Full Time Equivalent (FTE) depending upon experience.
£21,000 to £24,500 p.a. FTE depending upon experience, plus uncapped monthly sales commission based on personal and company targets, plus a generous benefits package.
