Production Operator

Jennifer Griffiths Recruitment are looking for experienced Production Operators for a Client in the Bridgend area.

Role summary

Reporting to a Section Leader, the role of the Production Operator is to undertake a variety of production activities for which you have been trained or are competent to perform. The production Operator will work on a variety of products across a number of work centres and may be required to work within different teams to help satisfy forward load demand.

Key Responsibilities

· Operate production work centres as directed by Section Leaders

· Deliver a consistently high-quality output

· Meet efficiency targets

· Record relevant information as directed to maintain traceability

· Book daily timesheets

· Maintain a clean and tidy working area

· Minimise downtime

· Adhere to quality standards

· Adhere to health and safety standards including the use of PPE

· Inform the Section Leader if there are improvements which should be considered to the current ways of working

Critical skills required for role

· Be able to work to a consistently high level of quality, paying attention to detail at all times

· Have sufficient dexterity to operate a range of machinery and processes to a full extent

· Have the ability to read and understand manufacturing process instructions

· Have the ability to read and understand training guides

· Be able to work effectively as part of a team with good interpersonal and communications skills.

· Be able to work with minimal supervision

· Be capable of undertaking repetitive tasks over long periods of times

· Have basic computer literacy skills

· Be willing to seek guidance if unsure as to how to do something

Required qualifications / experience to demonstrate competence in role

· Previous manufacturing experience is highly desirable in the following areas: sewing, cutting, studding, rigging, packing, pressing, painting, and finishing, drilling, bonding, joining and welding.

· Prior experience using production machinery is desirable

· Prior experience using hand-tooling is desirable

· Prior experience working as part of a team is highly desirable

· GCSE qualifications or equivalent in Maths and English are essential

· Prior experience working to formal instructions such as drawings and manufacturing process instructions is highly desirable.

· Computer literacy sufficient to undertake basic IT tasks is essential

· The ability to learn and retain knowledge is essential

· Being willing to train new members of the team is desirable

· Having excellent eyesight is mandatory

Other Considerations

· Agility sufficient to regularly handle materials and components, ensuring adherence Health & Safety / manual lifting requirements is essential

· Being able to gain security clearance is desirable

The hours of work are Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 5pm.

The hourly rate is £13.75.
