Painter and Decorator

Jennifer Griffiths Recruitment are looking for a Painter and Decorator for a Client in the Bridgend area.

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter and Decorator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying paint, wallpaper, and other finishes to various surfaces, ensuring high standards of quality and safety. The ideal applicant will possess strong communication skills, a good understanding of construction painting techniques, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Duties

• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling holes, and masking areas to ensure a smooth finish.
• Apply paint, varnish, wallpaper, and other decorative finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
• Mix paints and colours to achieve desired shades and consistency.
• Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations.
• Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding project progress and requirements.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good condition for optimal performance.

Requirements

• Proven experience in commercial painting and decorating.
• Good organisational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical fitness to undertake manual tasks including lifting, climbing ladders, and working at heights.

The hours of work are flexible but you must be able to work weekends.

The hourly rate is £15.00 an hour.
