CNC Setter/Operator

Jennifer Griffiths Recruitment are looking for a Time served CNC Setter/Operator for a Client in the Bridgend area.

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Setter/Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines to produce high-quality components. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical background and experience in precision machining.

Duties

  • Set up and calibrate CNC machines, ensuring accurate operation according to specifications
  • Programme CNC equipment using CAD/CAM software, including SolidWorks and other relevant tools
  • Operate CNC milling and grinding machines with precision and attention to detail
  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting on machinery
  • Utilise hand tools, power tools, and tooling to assemble, modify, or repair components as needed
  • Monitor production processes, adjusting parameters to maintain quality standards
  • Assist with welding tasks and assembly of parts when required
  • Apply basic maths skills for measurements, tolerances, and calculations during setup and operation
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in CNC setting and operation within a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks; experience with CAM programming is desirable
  • Knowledge of grinding, milling, welding, and plastics injection moulding processes
  • Mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, tooling management, and assembly techniques
  • Strong understanding of basic maths for measurement and calculations
  • Experience working with Aluminium and stainless steel or similar materials is advantageous
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering or manufacturing technology are preferred

The hours of work are Monday to Friday, Day shifts.

The hourly rate is £16.35.
