Temporary Production Planner


My client is looking for a Production Planner to start asap for a period of about 2 months

Main purpose of the role:

As Production Planner you will be responsible for scheduling the usage of production materials to ensure optimal levels.  You must evaluate suppliers or quality timelines and match according to goals.  You will also monitor supply flow and identify any shortages or bottlenecks in usage that may arise.  The Production Planner role is a key member of the team and performs a critical function within the business, as is a pivotal point between other key departments and suppliers alike.

Dealing with Production and Sales enquiries internally in a timely fashion ensuring fast turnaround times and delivering solutions to any barriers faced, ensuring customer satisfaction is a priority at all times.

As a Production Planner you will working Monday to Friday, to:

  • Liaise with sales department to determine customer requirements
  • Develop and manage the production schedule in line with customer requirement dates, ensuring products are ready to meet this date
  • Develop daily and weekly production schedules to ensure that production deadlines are met
  • Determine material, equipment and labour requirements
  • Prepare status and performance reports and resolve production issues
  • Ensure all relevant documentation is completed both timely and accurately
  • Maintain, update and communicate the daily plan and associated process documents as required
  • Liaise with the Raw Materials Team to ensure the availability of materials
  • Liaise with Internal Sales and Transport Teams to ensure customer requirements and productions priorities and on schedule
  • React accordingly to changes in customer demand
  • Ensure system workflow processes are followed and maintained
  • Troubleshoot problems that occur during production, including staff shortages and machinery malfunctions
  • Organise project paperwork, including purchase orders and maintain records
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and innovation, with an emphasis on embracing technology to maximise efficiency
  • Ensure housekeeping within work area is maintained at the highest level ensuring adherence to required standards at all times
  • Ensure and maintain a safe working environment by adherence to HSE requirements
  • To carry out or assist with any duties as deemed necessary in connection with the business
  • Use of Sage
  • Working 8am – 4pm Monday to Friday
