Jennifer Griffiths Recruitment are looking for an experienced Caretaker for a Client in the Bridgend area.
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Caretaker to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and overall condition of our premises. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the environment remains welcoming and well-maintained, supporting the smooth operation of our organisation. This role offers an opportunity to contribute positively to our community by providing essential upkeep and support services.
Duties
- To be responsible for the overall management of the site ensuring all areas are maintained, cleaned/cleared and are safe.
- To be responsible for the maintenance and safety of specialist equipment.
- To make arrangements for specialist and emergency cleaning taks to be undertaken.
- To ensure heating, plant, machinery and lighting systems are maintained and operated.
- To undertake regular site inspections.
- To make arrangements for the effective response to emergency call outs.
- To manage provision of alarm systems, CCTV or surveillance equipment.
- To manage fire safety provision and schedule fire drills.
- To be responsible for ensuring that property surveys are carried out and regular inspections are completed with defects reported accordingly.
- To ensure suitable and sufficient signage is displayed in the premises.
Skills
- Proven experience in cleaning, maintenance, or caretaking roles is advantageous.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure high standards of cleanliness and safety.
- Good communication skills for reporting issues clearly and working collaboratively with team members.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while following health and safety guidelines.
- Physical fitness to perform manual tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to caretaking roles is desirable.
